Hello readers,
I have not blogged for a while for a couple of reasons. First, was writer’s block. I understand that writer’s block has afflicted even professional writers, so I am not surprised it has happened to a lowly amateur writer like myself. Second, I extremely busy this past fall launching our new Roger products. But I have been inspired with some new ideas. As such I will be doing a series of posts that will feature focus on the more severe hearing losses.
Meanwhile, I will provide you with a link to a Canadian Broadcast Corporation radio documentary that highlights my journey to participate in music. I hope you enjoy it.

I have a CI on my left ear and a hearing aid on my right. Like you, I have always loved music (though I can neither play nor sing). And it is the one thing I can really get with the CI – although my audiologist keeps urging me to work at it – and I do think I’m getting a little wider frequency range over time. I just want you to know that this documentary was very inspiring to me. Keep playing!
First I waited a year after activation before I likes music again. So patience!
Also I find that takin music lessons helped me hear better. Do you have an instrument you would like to learn?
I just started taking trumpet lessons. I already have bass guitar under my belt. Playing really taught me to listen.
